This week was very busy in our 3rd grade classroom. Wednesday we joined forces with Ms.Young's students and learned more about showing our thinking while we read. We practiced making notes about things we learned, questioned, and wondered about. Your student is expected to do this not only on our reading passages but in all their reading. Friday we took a reading passage test and every child showed significant growth in their understanding. The change in their understanding was reflected in the great scores they made. We are clicking right along in reading. Thanks for all your support in helping with homework and reading at home.
On Thursday we had a surprise visit from the Kindness Ninjas! While we were away at lunch some little ninjas delivered encouraging notes and pencils to all the students in our class. They delivered over 500 pencils to each student at E.Ray! It was such a sweet surprise. Stay tuned for our Thank You video. We can't wait to pay that sweet favor forward.
This week at E.Ray we are going to be getting ready for our Benchmarks on Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday will be Math and Wednesday will be Reading. Please make sure your student gets a good night's rest and has a good breakfast. Thursday, February 28th is our Black History Program. The program will be at 6 pm. We have some students from our class that will be speaking so please try to attend.
